Who We Are:
Our
member agencies are private and
government funded programs serving
over 20 million congregate and home
delivered meals per year to more
than 220,000 elderly and disabled
persons. |

We Advocate:
CANDE advocates to further the
purposes of the Older Americans Act
and functions as an influential body
of senior nutrition providers who
have an interest in California
nutrition programs for the elderly.
CANDE assembles, coordinates and
distributes information, guidelines,
policies and legislation affecting
older Americans. Many years of
statewide communication and advocacy
has empowered CANDE as a significant
organization in the forefront of
senior services. |

Mission And
Purpose:
To support members in their
provision of high quality, cost
effective nutrition services, and to
promote the vital role of nutrition
in preventive health and long term
care throughout California. |

We Communicate
CANDE gathers information and
communicates with legislators;
testifies at hearings that can
result in legislation to expand and
improve services to the elderly;
fosters communication and
coordination among nutrition
projects and other organizations in
all areas of aging services; meets
and exchanges information with
service providers, both in
California and nationally, who share
our goal of maintaining and
improving services that contribute
to the quality of life for older
Americans. |
